Frontek Overview

Ventilated ceramic porcelain facades for New Zealand

Frontek facade cladding panels are extruded ceramics in vitrified porcelain that have excellent technical attributes for the cladding of facades: extremely hard, light in comparison to other large format ceramics, highly resistant and long-lasting, with low water absorption and excellent performance against weather and the most demanding environmental conditions.

Manufactured by Greco Gres Internacional — specialists in high-tech ceramic ventilated facade systems since 1940 — Frontek is available in New Zealand through The Building Agency across residential, retail, hospitality, office, industrial, and public sector applications.

Key technical attributes

  • Water absorption: 0.1% (standard E ≤ 0.5%) — highly resistant to moisture ingress.
  • Flexion resistance: 30–55 N/mm² (standard 28 N/mm²).
  • Impact resistance: 0.80 (standard ≥ 0.55).
  • Deep abrasion resistance: 155 mm³ (standard < 175 mm³).
  • Linear thermal dilation: 5×10⁻⁶/°C (standard < 9×10⁻⁶/°C).
  • Surface scratch resistance: 5–7 Mohs.
  • Stain resistance: Class 3–5. Thermal shock and frost resistant.
