CUPA ReadySlate Overview

Natural slate roofing — reimagined for modern construction

Cupa ReadySlate® is the world's first pre-assembled natural slate roofing system, developed and patented by CUPA GROUP. Natural slate has been formed by nature for over 500 million years to provide unmatched characteristics — long lasting, high strength, waterproof, and fire resistant, retaining its natural beauty unchanged over decades of performance.

ReadySlate's modular design means it can be installed by any qualified roofing contractor quickly and cost-effectively. The four-step installation uses the same flashing and finishing systems trusted in New Zealand roofing for over 25 years — with valleys, ridges, hips, and other inclusions all compatible with tried-and-tested local roofing details.

Sustainability

Slate roofing — the most ecological and sustainable choice

Natural slate is a mineral product. Its production process from the quarry to installation is highly efficient, and it does not employ any chemical products — making it completely ecological.

The Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), which evaluates the environmental impact of a product from extraction to final disposal, confirms that natural slate is an ecological option for any architectural project. The independent database Inventory of Carbon and Energy (ICE, University of Bath) highlights natural slate as the material with the lowest number of adverse impacts on the environment — requiring less water, consuming less energy, and polluting far less than any other alternative during its transformation process.
